Vers une gouvernance alimentaire locale reliant ville et agriculture : le cas de Perpignan

Abstract : This article aims to understand why there are so few urban food policies in France. After a brief review of the literature on urban food governance, the paper contextualizes the issue in France, and then presents the case of Perpignan, a medium-sized town where many activities are carried out in the agricultural and food sectors. Based on documentary analysis and in-depth interviews, this study characterizes the diversity of local initiatives. It highlights some policies, actors and places that ensure intermediation or regulation functions across the urban food system, and could connect cities, local agriculture and urban food.
