Multivariable generalized predictive control with feedforward for on-demand operation of irrigation canals

This paper is concerned with the application of a multivariable generalized predictive controller for a single reach of an irrigation canal. The controller has been developed by considering MIMO CARIMA model of the reach, calculated by identification. Both regulation (perturbation rejection) and tracking aspects are considered. The performance of the control scheme is illustrated by simulation results using this linear model. A proven nonlinear computer model of the canal reach has been used to check the controller behavior, and some simulation results are shown too.
Cet article traite de l'application de la commande prédictive généralisée multivariable à un canal d'irrigation constitué d'un bief unique. Le contrôleur a été développé en considérant un modèle du bief de type MIMO CARIMA ajusté par identification. Le problème de la régulation (rejet de perturbations) et de la poursuite sont traités. La performance du contrôleur est illustrée par des simulations en utilisant un modèle linéaire. Un modèle non linéaire du canal a été également utilisé pour tester le comportement du contrôleur. Des résultats de simulation sont présentés.
