Approche expérimentale de l'impact des oiseaux piscivores sur une pisciculture extensive littorale

Abstract : A quantitative study on the predation by piscivorous bird species has been conducted in a watershed located in a series of fish reservoirs. Two paddocks, one protected by nets and cords, the other accessible to birds have been studied. After three weeks, the fish count has demonstrated that there wasn't any fish left in the tank accessible to birds. The main results are the rapid intervention of the predators, the low quantities taken by the heron. Predation by the cormorant could not be dissociated from the death indirectly due to the predators (estimated to be 64 to 97% of the initial stock).
