Conception et calcul de barrages de correction torrentielle

Abstract : In France, specific civil engineering creations, such as "torrent control dams" make up are one of the main tools fitting out protection works against the torrent risks. The first object of this document is to propose a coherent mean, within the principles defined by the limit equilibrium method, of technical rules of conceiving and calculating reinforced concrete torrent control dams. The choosen design code is illustrated by its application to the typical structure of the most used dams in France, called "self stabilizing structure". Beforhand, a few important principles of the torrential correction are reminded. The common types of dams are presented with their main characteristics and applications.
