Continuous daily rainfall - catchment wetness - streamflow simulation models for sub-catchments of the Seine basin, France

Résumé

This paper presents results of rainfall-runoff modelling on three representative sub-catchments of the Seine basin, using simple conceptual hydrological models. The analyses were undertaken in the preliminary stages of a wider investigation of methods to assimilate remotely-sensed catchment soil moisture information into operational streamflow forecasting systems. A focus of interest in the paper is the efficient characterization of streamflow regimes. Comments are made on parameter values in relation to catchment behaviour and characteristics.
