Study of the diet of an incidentally introduced group of Acipenser baerii, Brandt 1869 in the Gironde estuary (France) and comparison with the diet of indigenous juvenile Acipenser sturio, Linnaeus 1758

Abstract : In December 1999, a violent storm in France resulted in the escape of 27 tonnes of juvenile and adult Siberian sturgeon, Acipenser baerii, into the Gironde estuary. This area is used by Acipenser sturio juveniles of the last European population of native sturgeon, and which may be threatened by the escaped A. baerii.
