Pour une meilleure prise en compte des cervidés dans l'aménagement forestier : proposition d'une démarche prospective

Abstract : Cervids are an important component of forest ecosystems and forest managers should seriously take them into account before making a silvicultural decision, particularly when elaborating the forestry planning document. Our approach aims at predicting carrying capacity fluctuations on a 20 to 25-year management period, in order to avoid or, at least, to limit a possible desequilibrium between population levels and carrying capacity. However, deer population monitoring is essential to check the efficiency of the preventive measures we proposed.
