Validation of a pesticide ground distribution model for field sprayers

Validation d'un modèle de distribution des pesticides au sol pour des pulvérisateurs grandes cultures

Résumé

Pesticide applications is an important research field to ensure an adequate and high quality supply of many agricultural crops. It is necessary to decrease the use of toxic chemicals to respect the actual economic and environmental concerns and, then, it is important to minimise spray unevenness and pesticide losses. Stability of field sprayer booms and speed variations influence distribution unevenness. To evaluate boom behaviour, a software developed in the Cemagref institute simulated the ground spray distributions knowing the boom movements (Sinfort et al., 1994). Our researches were organised in order to validate this software
