Influence de la composition et de la richesse spécifique du peuplement arboré sur la biodiversité

Abstract : Tree species composition is one of the main choices made by foresters. In this chapter, we review scientific work made on the impact of (i) main tree species; (ii) tree species composition; and (iii) tree species richness on several parts of interspecific biodiversity. Our results generally agree with consensus statements such as mainly a negative effect of coniferous tree species and exotic tree species, and a positive effect of mixed stands on several parts of biodiversity. However, these statements must be not be considered as absolute guidelines one has to apply averywhere. We futher discuss the implications of our findings on management guidelines and indicators.
