An OR and NOT implementation that improves linguistic rule interpretability
The need of OR and NOT operators within linguistic rules is widely admitted. They help in designing readable and more compact rules. Their use allows the number of of rules to be smaller, improving rule base interpretability. However, the management of such kind of operators may convey some difficulties, semantic ones as well as difficulties in the inferring process. In this paper, after describing the main pitfalls to avoid, a new way of implementing OR and NOT operators is proposed. This implementation only involves the AND operator.
