Spatial patterns and governance issues in the rural-urban fringes: A research position
Configurations spatiales et gouvernance dans les franges rurales-urbaines : une position de recherche
Résumé
We theorise that, regarding intermunicipal cooperations, institutional strategies are closely related to spatial patterns. Choices made define long-term impacts and lead to specific development models. Institutional strategies do not include a real anticipation by actors of these long-term effects. To test this hypothesis we define an analytical scheme concerning strategies to observe and we especially take into account the spatial entry to study social and spatial transformations led by these. We aim to point out visible indicators of strategies and their spatial impact. This could rely on spatial analysis such as landscape analysis, social representation, image productions as logos, etc.
