Suivi de la réponse de la végétation aux changements climatiques, approche par transects

Abstract : This paper presents an experimental device intended to demonstrate the shift of the bioclimatic limit between Pinus halepensis and Pinus sylvestris related to climate warming. Based on an elevation transect at the limit between the distribution areas of these two pines in Provence (France), this device underlined the role of climate warming by eliminating the variations of the other factors (rain, soil, topography). It showed that a variation of less than1°C of mean annual temperature has a significant effect on the patterns of reactivity of trees to monthly climatic parameters. Whereas the productivity of the Pinus halepensis strongly increased in 20th century, that of Pinus sylvestris strongly decreased in the same period.
