Microclimate induced by vegetation composition: consequences for tree seedling growth

Microclimat induit par la composition de la végétation : conséquences sur la croissance des jeunes plants d'arbres

Résumé

Often the presence of a vegetation layer around tree seedlings is detrimental for their establishment and growth by competition for resources. However there are some cases where being into this vegetation layer is better than being on a bare soil. This is known as facilitation process and particularly by improving microclimate around the tree seedlings. The paper reviews microclimate changes related to vegetation composition.
