Quantification of fat content in flesh of fish using T1-weighted spin echo

Quantification du taux de lipides dans la chair de poisson à partir d'images IRM pondérées T1

Résumé

This poster presents a method based on T1-weighted MRI images to quantify fat in fish muscle. A model was established. The MRI signal in each voxel was modeled as the sum of the signal of muscle, and the signal of fat, each weighted by the proportion of the corresponding tissue. The RF inhomogeneity was also taken into account in order to correct the images from unwanted variations of the signal depending on the position in the MRI. The method was validated by a comparison with NMR results. The RMSE was 0.8%.
