Coupling experimental and computational fluid dynamics: Synopsis of approaches, issues and perspectives

Abstract : Recently, the fluid mechanics community has been making increasing contributions to the field of dynamical flow reconstruction by coupling EFD with CFD. In my presentation I try to highlight significant achievements in thisarea with emphasis on data assimilation techniques. I discuss mathematical and physical modeling that have been used and are necessary when one intends to estimate the state of a dynamical flow based on plenty of or limited information.
