The Corporation Paysanne installed by the Vichy regime in 1940 was in coherence with the agrarianist desires expressed by marshal Petain and some leaders of the agricultural syndicalism during the 1930s. The research is carried out into the local level, using the methods of social history and prosopography. The survey of the corporative organization in several villages in the Rhone region and of the experiences lived by the presidents of chambers of agriculture make possible to analyze the Corporation Paysanne over a longer period, through the career of its members from the 1930s to its dissolution in 1944 and after.
