Analyse de la compétitivité de la filière de viande de volaille en Algérie : tentatives d’explication d’une déstructuration chronique

Abstract : In this article we propose an approach based on Porter and RBV approaches to analyze low competitiveness of the Algerian poultry industry. Our empirical research is based on two surveys conducted in 2007 and 2010. The main results showed a quasi-total foreign dependency of local poultry vis-à-vis the food world system, the technical weakness of poultry farms, the lack of organization of the profession and the low innovation capacity of all stakeholders in the sector both on a technical organizational level and terms. Our research allows us to identify the factors that could ensure better competitiveness of Algerian poultry model in the era of globalization and regionalization.
