Defining production strategies adapted to markets at the production basin scale
Construire des stratégies de production adaptées aux débouchés à l’échelle du bassin de collecte
Résumé
The goal of this project is to create tools which allow us to define, assess and simplify the development of sunflower production strategies suitable to issues concerning a supplying area. An agronomical diagnosis work, associating approaches of typology, interviews with farmers, field observations (on the field and from satellites) and the use of models on the supplying area allow the identification of the main production limiting factors. A prototype of a computer tool called “COLLECTO” has been built. It allows for testing of production improvement scenarios at the supplying area level. Its central component is the crop model “SUNFLO” (which works at the homogeneous situation level) in which are added models of aggregation (typology based), taking into account limiting factors which are not managed by SUNFLO, and economical calculations. Lastly, we managed to propose quick, simple and cheap measurement methods of the oil content (infrared spectrophotometry based) which could be used in silos when farmers deliver harvested seeds or in a laboratory.
