Résumé
This article presents the different sources of climatological data available for the forester. A summary of the bioclimatic indices useful for ecological studies and forest management are presented as well as three simple equations for calculating potential evapotranspiration (PET): Thornthwaite, Turc, Hargreaves. Mean annual potential evapotranspiration values for the period 1961-1990 was calculated using GIS, mapped and compared for the whole of France
