Assessment of the consequences on indicators of sustainability of different scenarios of development of organic farming systems in Camargue, France
Résumé
In this communication, we explore the possible consequences of scenarios assuming different levels for the development of organic farming systems (OF) in Camargue, South of France. To assess the consequences of such changes of farming system, we assess a set of socio-economic and environmental indicators representing different sustainability issues. By comparing four scenarios including around 17%, 30%, 60% or 90% of land cultivated under OF at the regional level, we show potential trade-offs between the different issues faced by the agriculture in Camargue.
