Analyzing fruit tree architecture: implications for tree management and fruit production

Résumé

This chapter presents the main concepts that are used in architectural analysis and illustrates how they have been introduced and applied to fruit species, from both a qualitative and quantitative point of view. The consequences of fruit tree architectural analysis for tree and orchard management, especially regarding the manipulation of both vegetative and floral organs at the tree level, are described.
