APEX - Amélioration des performances de l’élevage extensif dans les marais et les vallées alluviales

Abstract : Dairy and beef producers, especially extensive livestock farmers, are the primary managers of wetlands in Pays de la Loire marshes and alluvial valleys. Their activity enhance the value of these areas while guaranteeing their economic and ecological functions. These livestock farmers must take into account the wetlands' specificities, while being in line with the economic and environmental objectives of the whole French agriculture. At present, there are very few studies that constitute references for these sensitive areas. This project provides farmers with keys to improve their farming system, by characterizing the farm systems from a sociological, technico-economic, agroecological, and animal health point of view.
