Les fonctions de centralité d’équipements et de services dans les dynamiques territoriales. Une étude utile au programme d’appui de l’ANCT Petites villes de demain

Abstract : During the first reflections for the elaboration of the Small Towns of Tomorrow programme, the ANCT wished to better understand the centrality functions of municipalities in terms of facilities and services, in metropolitan France. To this end, the ANCT and INRAE-CESAER Dijon conducted a study for the period 2019-2020. This work, which brought together national and local partners in a study steering committee, was carried out on the basis of a scientific bibliography as well as local and national work. Four levels of centralities were identified and characterised as local, intermediate, structuring or major centres of facilities and services. The ANCT presents the main results of the INRAE study and outlines the first lessons that can be drawn for their use in territorial diagnoses. More broadly, the identification of equipment and service centres sheds light on the problems surrounding the accessibility of services, and to support the optimisation of the location of shops and public services in places already frequented by the inhabitants.
