Adult from butterfly Polygonia c-album feeding on an aphid colony's honeydew within a peach-tree curled leaf.

2020-06-15

Description : The vernacular-named Robert-le-Diable (Polygonia c-album, Nymphalidae) is a Palaearctic species of lepidoptera known for its particular silhouette, with its very jagged wings. Here a male. The interest of the photo is to show an apparently common behavior in this family feeding on the aphid's sweet secretion. Here on peach, and probably Brachycaudus helycrisii having rolled up the leaves of Prunus persica (unconfirmed).
