Cabo Norte : Where the land ends and the mangroves begin
Résumé
This article is a travel story about a 10-day expedition to the Amazon River mouth that happened at the end of march 2013, in the frame of the research project 'BIOFLOR', granted by Guyamazon and IRD, for a study of forest carbon in the Tropics. The aim is to relate my personal feelings during a journey to a remote area of study, those feelings that forge motivations and collaborations, support new and relevant scientific hypotheses and help to mark the dimensions
of future scientific campaigns. This expedition would never have come about without Odete Machado da Silveira and Valdenira Ferreira dos Santos who have been able to pass on their passion and knowledge about a fabulous, fascinating and unknown region: the Cabo Norte.
