Concept-Dig: design support tool for the agronomic valorization of digestates from agrowastes

Résumé

The Concept-Dig project aimed at producing a design support tool for agrowastes digestates treatments in perspectives of their agronomic use. This tool is based on a survey of 72 French farmers and digesters owners and on lab-scale experiments with the monitoring of 3 digestates treatment processes (phase separation, storage, composting). A digestate typology was proposed with 8 types of digestates associated of their main feedstocks and revealing several properties from soil improver to nutrients fertilizers potential. Besides, from the feedstocks mass fluxes, a statistical model has been set-up to predict the agronomic quality and typology of the digestate (biochemical composition and amending/ fertilizing potential value). From these data, mass balances based on validated indicators and experimental abatements values allowed the prediction of the digestates quality treated after phase separation and storage and to position the latter in relation to a typology carried out within the framework of Concept –Dig. A French first version of a public web tool was proposed and is going to be amended in the future. It This new tool is a first step to improve digestates management.
