This statement to the session 4 (Harnessing Resources, Redirecting Policy and Addressing Structural Barriers to Advance Agroecology Research in the USA) of the Agroecology summit developed 4 insights based on diverse experiences with agroecological research and policies especially in France and Brazil, about: • Potential and limits of devoted agroecological policies and contributions of research • The analysis and recognition of agroecological transitions as open-ended processes • Embedded, lasting transdisciplinary research for territorial approaches • How agroecological research support/programs allow co-led research
