Redesigning spatial on-farm precision experiments for innovative vineyard crop protection
Résumé
The future for crop protection lies in enabling agroecological approaches and biocontrol. Considering the complexity of these crop protection systems, field-scale experiments need to be conducted with proper spatial designs to account for the spatial heterogeneity in production. This paper provides some theory and algorithmic principles for the spatial design in on-farm precision experimentation (OFPE) for crop protection of grapevine. Based on a simulated case study using real LiDAR data acquired in a French vineyard, methods for assessing how spatial heterogeneity can be handled are proposed.
