EFFET D'UN APPORT DE BANANE EN COMPLÉMENT D'UN ALIMENT CONCENTRÉ SUR LA DIGESTION ET LA CROISSANCE DE LAPEREAUX A L'ENGRAISSEMENT
Résumé
Three groups of five rabbits, four weeks old, were fed ad libitum with commercial pelleted mix, during two months. Groups 2 and 3 were supplemented, ad libitum or restricted, with whole green banana. Ad. libitum ingestion, in concurrence of pelleted mix, reached a great level (average on two months : 120 g fresh matter per day), which is equivalent to 32 p. cent of total dry matter consumption. Even, with free-choice between pelleted mix and green banana (with 20 p. cent dry matter), the rabbit is able to ajust his energy consumption, without any significative decrease in growth performance. Ingestion of banana by rabbit increase total digestibility of diet for dry matter (+ 6 p. cent), organic matter (+ 6 p. cent) and energy (+ 5,5 p. cent). Digestible energy of green banana is estimated at 3640± 200 kcal/kg D. M., when banana consumption is equivalent to 20 at 30 p. cent of total dry matter ingestion
