La sfida dell’atlante del cibo Matera per promuovere una governance trans-locale del cibo

Résumé

Fundamental changes needed to reach social and economic development balanced with the characteristics of contemporary ecosystems, concerning the way in which societies live, produce and consume in territories. Local food systems are more and more important to analyse and design territories and to renew socio-spatial configurations of the territories. This work, in continuity with previous ones (Mininni et al., 2018a; Mininni et al., 2018b), aims to deepen the knowledge on Food Atlas as a tool that are able to create knowledge in action by activating processes from analytical capacity and specific features. In this vision the Food Atlas become a transcalar tools to improve public procurement on food by achieve policies and strategies (Sonnino, Moragues-Faus, 2018). The Food Atlas of Matera has emerged in industrial research called Smart Basilicata Culture and Tourism (PON Miur 2016-18). The Atlas approach is based on critical analysis on food system with the method of city region food system (FAO CRFS Program, Reinforcing Rural urban linkages for resilient food system, 2018). The aim of the project was to build knowledge usable to create new, innovative, and improved products, productive processes, and services. The expectations on the Atlas are occurring by the evaluation of its performances in the passage from the product dimension of a research to its ability to be effective in practices, using knowledge in action. This phase also has the purpose of understanding how the Atlas, from process descriptor and divulger, can become a policy facilitator and can help them to specify (Pizzorno, 1993). The Atlas aims to activate processes starting from a cognitive analysis that will help define a complex geography in which the geographic space of food is important to build policies and decisions (Boudon, 2000). The Food Atlas of Matera want to enhance the success of the city as European Capital of Culture in 2019 working and giving value critically at the food transitions. In this frame the Atlas, wants to give important legacy at the city after 2019 (Di Vita, Morandi, 2018, Mininni, 2017), suggesting local food policies.
