Les chroniques en hydrologie : modélisation comparée par un système de gestion de bases de données relationnel et orienté-objet, traitement de base et intervalles de confiance des quantiles de crues, techniques d'échantillonnage par la méthode du renouvellement

Abstract : The thesis deals with times series in hydrology. It has four parts. The first part presents characteristics of data management systems and different hydrological data management softwares. The second part presents several conceptual models used to model data, gives several hydrological examples, and shows that relational database manager systems have bad performances, because of the redundancy of the relational model, when object oriented systems work well with short time step series. The third part presents basic treatments used to validate hydrological measurements, and specific developments about confidence limits of flood quantiles. The fourth part concerns the peak over threshold values, and gives different criteria in order to fit the process distribution, to select an appropriate threshold and to guarantee independance of values. Specific sampling techniques are described in order to extract threshold values of any kind of duration.
