Changement observé de distribution du pin sylvestre et pin d'Alep dans le Sud-Est de la France

Abstract : In the French Mediterranean region, the potential area of Pinus silvestris is shrinking from the influence of long-term climate change and also climate accidents, whereas that of Pinus halepensis is expanding. During the 20th century, the productivity of Pinus silvestris decreased a lot whereas that of the Pinus halepensis increased. However, since 1998, the productivity of the Pinus halepensis also decreased after a succession of dry and warm years, culminating with the exceptional scorching heat of 2003. This last one caused extensive withering in Pinus silvestris stands, accelerating the recession of this species in the Mediterranean region.
