Agaricus collegarum and Agaricus masoalensis, two new taxa of the section Nigrobrunnescentes collected in Europe

Abstract

Exhaustive descriptions of Agaricus collegarumand A. masoalensis, two newtaxa from Europe, along with color photographs of their macro- and microscopic charac-ters and a comparative study of their closest allies, are given. A phylogenetic analysis, based on the nuclear ITS rDNA sequences, confirms that these new species belong to thesection Nigrobrunnescentes. Agaricus collegarum is closely related to A. boisselettii whileA. masoalensisforms with A. nigrobrunnescens and A. guachari a complex of closelyrelated and morphologically cryptic species. Agaricus collegarum and Agaricus masoalensis, two new taxa of the section Nigrobrunnescentes collected in Europe.
