Calidad y degradabilidad ruminal de los principales nutrientes en el forraje de morera (MorusAlba)

Résumé

Studies were developed on nutritive quality and ruminal degradation of forage of Morus alba harvested in experimental areas of the EEPF “Indio Hatuey”. The experiment was carried out in dry conditions without fertilizers. All the varieties planted (Tigreada, Indonesia, Criolla and Acorazonada) were comparatively asseased according to the bromatological composition of its edible parts during the optimum harvesting stage. The cinetic of Acorazonada ruminal degradation was also calculated. Crude protein values were high in all cases (26 % average). Crude fibre proportions were low (15 %) and corresponded to the plants optimum harvesting stage. Organic matter effective degradability was of 48 % higher than that reported for leucaena. The neutral detergent fibre (NDF) was degradated in 80 % after 72 h incubation, while at about 90 % of all material was digested at term of 48 h. The results permit to infer that existed a high passage speed with an effective ruminal vaccum and voluntary intake stimulus which show the wide possibilities of this species to be used as food supplements for ruminants feeding.
