Influence of agricultural practices on arthropod populations in a context of Rhone-Alpes gardening

Résumé

The number of aphids and arthropod predators was compared on lettuces grown in five farms of the Rhone departement, France, having various practices from conventional to organic farming. The conventional farm that inadvertently eliminated the predators by chemical treatment showed the greatest number of individuals in aphids. On the other hand, few differences were found between sustainable and organic farming where predators are in sufficient numbers to control aphids.
