Influence of temperature on apricot fruit respiration and ethylene production
Résumé
To define optimal permeability of a composite wheat gluten-paper material for a new packaging film, elaborated in the Tailorpack project, physiological parameters modelling was conducted on two contrasted apricot cultivars ('Ravicille' and 'Bergeron'). Effects of temperature on respiration and ethylene production have been monitored and Q(10) were estimated at picking time and during postharvest storage. 'Ravicille' presented higher respiration and ethylene production rates, at all analysed temperatures, than 'Bergeron', while Q(10) values were more or less similar. For both cultivars, Q(10) increased with storage time. This result, added to the variability between cultivars, will have major impact on film conception.
