Résumé

The 29th Congress of the European Grassland Federation focused on the contributions of grasslands to the development of circular and sustainable food systems. In this article, the authors summarize, from their point of view, what were the highlights of this congress. The assessment of the service package provided by grassland livestock systems was one of those highlights, as was the exploration of the potential of using the diversity of grassland plant communities to enhance the performance and resilience of these systems. At the plot level, intra- and inter-specific plant diversity is an important support to grassland productivity and stability. On the other hand, diversification of the types of grasslands maintained at the farm level allows to better reinforce the multifunctionality of the system.
