Advanced Computing for Smart Waste Management and Recycling in Smart Cities

Résumé

The increasing urbanization and population growth in cities have led to a surge in the amount of waste produced, posing significant challenges for waste management and recycling. Advanced computing technologies offer promising solutions to these challenges by enabling more efficient and sustainable waste management practices. This chapter presents an overview of advanced computing technologies for smart waste management and recycling in smart cities. We discuss the various technologies used in waste management, such as Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI), and their application to improve waste management and recycling processes. Additionally, we discuss the challenges and opportunities in the adoption of these technologies in waste management and recycling.
