Etude et développement de l'optimisation multiobjectif de la microfiltration 0.1 μm de lait écrémé en intégrant la connaissance experte.

Abstract : Crossflow 0.1 μm microfiltration of skimmed milk is an operation conventionally used in the dairy industry for protein fractionation. The optimization of MF is complex due to: i) the lack of knowledge on the physical phenomena involved and ii) the difficulty of the optimization problem which must consider contradictory objectives, heterogeneous variables and mathematical non-linear equations or functions. Using both knowledge integration and optimization is an interesting strategy for solving multiobjective optimization problems in a field where the available knowledge is incomplete. This work aims to study and develop the multiobjective optimization of MF by integrating expert knowledge (scientists, dairy manufacturers and equipment manufacturers). This work successively addresses 4 steps which are, the formulation of the multiobjective problem, the modeling of the optimization objectives and the optimization followed by the decision making. The MF problem was formulated by considering the product, the operating variables, the design and the economic costs. 178 optimized solutions were found, including solutions similar to those used in the industry and at lower cost. The multiobjective optimization of MF has opened up thinking about new installation design and new combinations of operating conditions. The result put forward a proof of concept whose feasibility and viability must be validated on industrial scale.
